St. Vincent de Paul has helped over 3000 families last year alone.  All of this is done with volunteers that put in over 4000 hours or work in each year.

Utility Assistance

We believe no on  should be without electricity or water.

On average, we pay $2500  every week to utility companies in Manatee County.

We are able to assist our neighbors by paying utilities bills that are past due, on Final Notice or have been shut off.

Food Assistance

We provide emergency food bags for those in need.

Previously, the food, toiletries and paper goods have all been donated.

We now belong to the Food Bank and are able to supplement our non-perishable food items.

Education Assistance

The Sophie’s Scholarship has been established to assist clients in furthering their education in order to secure a better paying job to become self sufficient and support their families.

This is a newly established program just started this year and is evolving as needed.

Gift and Debit Cards

On a limited basis, and in conjunction with other assistance, we provide gas cards to our neighbors so they may transport themselves to job interviews, and medical appointments.

If available, we provide debit cards to assist with clothing and sundries.

SVdP Thrift Store Vouchers

We provide Thrift Store vouchers to support families and individuals in need of furniture, clothing and other items available at the store (1111 8th Ave. W. Bradenton, FL).

If we are unable to provide assistance in a particular situation, we will refer our neighbors to other agencies with relevant expertise and resources.

Assist Other Charities

When we are able, we assist The Salvation Army, Season of Sharing.

We also work with two Halfway Houses: Chrysalis House and Courage to Change, when funding is available.
